Your Lips

the concave curves begin,
end together in symmetry,
the surface, raised and full
twin cliffs folded together
joined by a river, dividing
the pallet is of maroon, pink
hints of red and sparkling luster
the veins and folds supportive
the proud deposition, assertive
the moon existed here, at a certain moment
so did oceans, lions and cypress
at a certain moment, everything was this
there was no emptying of its spirit
yet none receives a full measure.
This sweetness, exotic amazon flower
Never tasted, yet full of taste, felt.

Your lips, they are made for kissing.
To be kissed, and kissed often
By someone who knows how to.

At this rate how am i going to try to be an 'objective' commentor? This poem.. damn, it's got the 'ummph' factor. It's romantic, but it's written in a way that it rises up - no corny work there. It shows your observation of something many wouldn't dare articulate in such words, and I think it's one of your aims - to write about something that is taken for granted and yet is beautiful. It got the message across. There's a sense of sexiness there with the 'hints of red and the sparkling luster' but not overbearingly so. It's romance at its most beautiful state - sexy, sensual, perceptive and receptive, and demanding and longed for. There are bits I didn't understand like the existence of lions but I could guess as to what it meant, and it gives a sense of wild longing and love, so it works either way, and works beautifully. I think I had better stop commenting. :) Keep putting your whole self into your words, and man, you create magic in the reader's mind. And it makes me wish that there was a lovely nutcase who saw my lips with such intensity and longing as you did hers :) Damn. Bloody good.
